Paul L. Adams () was a prominent psychoanalyst and child psychiatrist.

Paul was Professor Emeritus at the University of Texas, Galveston, Professor at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, Development Consultant at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and Faculty Coordinator at the Kentucky Psychoanalytic Institute, Louisville. He had a private, part-time practice in Louisville.

Some of his work on was on Dynamic Formulations: The Clinical Application of Motivational Theories, applying motivational theories from Marx and Freud through psychoanalysts, behaviorists, and existentialists.
